Who loves a good day at the spa? I know I do! But days at the spa can be expensive, so how can you have an excellent spa day at home? I’m so glad you asked. Spa days/nights are one of my favorite ways to spend my time. They’re great, alone, make a great girls’ day/night activity, and are really easy to put together. So if you’re interested in how to have the best at-home spa day, let’s get into it!
Set the menu for your spa day!
You’ll obviously need some snacks and beverages while you’re relaxing! If you’re planning to have a spa day with the girls, you’ll 100% need some things to snack on! I like to opt for really light and fresh foods. Some foods I like to eat are:
- Wraps of any kind
- Salads
- Flatbreads
- Veggies and dips
- Pasta salad
- Cucumber water!
Shake the bad vibes
The goal is to get super relaxed, right? So why not take 20/30 minutes to shake off any not-so-pleasent vibes you’ve got going on?
You can do this by:
- Going for a walk
- Doing some yoga
- Meditating
- Journaling
Set the mood for your at-home spa day
Setting the mood is EVERYTHING! If your surroundings aren’t relaxing, how are you supposed to relax? Two things I use to get into a spa day mood are candles and music.
Candles
I love a good candle. In fact, some might even call me a candle hoarder lol. When it comes to relaxing and having a spa day, fresh or citrus scents are best! Chill, Babe Candle Co ALWAYS has good candles for that! Some scents I look for are:
- Eucalyptus
- Mint
- Lavender
- Lemongrass
- Basil
- Cedar
- Rosemary
- Ylang Ylang
- Citrus
Music
Music is another great way to set the mood. It’s important to opt for soothing music if you’re having a spa night! Two great places to find playlists are Youtube and Spotify. You can search for a spa playlist or find a miracle tone playlist. There are also some great apps you can use on your phone! I use ZenSpa Universe.
Spa day activities
So, what do you do during a spa day? So glad you asked. I feel like a spa day should include anything that:
- Makes you feel relaxed, peaceful, and refreshed.
- Makes you feel good in your own skin.
So really, whatever does that for you! Some activities I like to do are:
- Take a bath with either bubbles, salts, or a bath bomb.
- Exfoliate my body with a gentle scrub.
- Shave everything. Extra points if you put clean sheets on your bed! If you know, you know!
- A deep-conditioning hair mask
- Do my full skincare routine topped off with a sheet mask and a massage with my face roller.
- Mani/pedi sometimes. (I’m not that into doing my nails because I am not good at it.)
But you can add whatever you’d like! It’s YOUR spa day after all!
