As you can see by the title, I’ve started my own candle Business: Chill, Babe Candle Co. Now, you may be thinking “Another business? You’re crazy.” and I probably am lol. But here’s the thing, I FREAKING LOVE CANDLES! My friends call me the candle queen for a reason. I have a cupboard FILLED with candles! Stocked with at least 40+ candles at all times. So why not make them? In this post I’ll be introducing my brand to you, telling you the story behind it, and where you can find my new candles! Keep reading!
Why I started my candle company.
For those of you who know me or have been following me for a while, this may not come as a surprise to you but, I love candles! I’ve also been on a bit of a spiritual/mental health journey for the past two years. And while I love my blog and shop, I felt like something was missing. I started my blog to connect with like-minded people. That led to me opening up Hey Little J Shop, so I could use my creativity and connect with people in a totally different way! Chill, Babe Candle Co is an extension of that need to connect. This time it’s about connecting with ourselves and our surroundings.
If the past two years have taught me anything, it was to slow down and take a moment. To create a space or moment where I could take a breath and just be. This is where candles came into the picture. Candles have a way of calming you. They have a way of transporting you to a different time and place. Scents are tied to memories and events in our lives. And while escapism isn’t the goal here, I wanted to create something people could use to help them take those few minutes for themselves, but I wanted to do it in a more sustainable way.
As a rather big candle consumer, while I loved the scents I was buying, I wasn’t keen on the chemicals I was putting into my air or the packaging I wasn’t able to recycle. That’s how Chill, Babe Candle Co is different!
