These were questions I had and needed answers to. I’d always wanted to try it but kept thinking about the price and is it worth it. Then my best friend text me saying she tried it a loved it! The buying process
I found the process of customizing my shampoo and conditioner to be really simple but incredibly fun! I had no idea there were so many options to choose from! These were the options I choose:
- Deep condition
- Strengthen
- Thermal protection
- Volumize
- Curl Definition
For my colors, I chose pink for shampoo and blue for conditioner. I knew if I got them the same color I’d get them mixed up. The scent I chose was Eucalyptus and the regular strength. I also chose to have my shampoo and conditioner be shipped to me every three months but will possibly push it back even more! A little goes a very long way!
My hair before Function Of Beauty
Before I started using Function of Beauty, my hair was kind of a mess! As someone who bleaches her hair, you can bet my hair dried out really quickly. Although I only washed my hair twice a week, I was using a deep conditioner once a week to every other week. I was struggling with severe breakage and had a ton of weird layers in the back of my head. Growing up I always had curly hair and as I got older it slowly started to disappear. My hair was dry, frizzy, and half-straight half-wavy if I decided to let it air dry. I’d get my hair done and a month later it would be a total mess again!
Using the shampoo & conditioner for the first time
When my sample came I was SO excited to use it. I loved how each bottle came with a pump and they packed in a sheet of cute stickers. My first, and every experience, in the shower with this shampoo and conditioner, was amazing! A little goes a long way with this product. It lathered well and the scent, WOW. You could smell the shampoo all the way downstairs.
My hair after Function of Beauty
After my first use, I knew I was hooked. Remember that curl pattern I said didn’t exist anymore? She’s back, baby! My hair was curly, had volume I’ve never had in my life, and my hair was incredibly soft. No frizz, no dry brittle feeling, just healthy, strong, curly hair! I’ve been using Function of Beauty for over two months now and I can confidently say that it’s my forever shampoo. It’s been three months since I’ve gotten my hair done and I’m not experiencing any of the problems I did before this shampoo. My ends are still feeling healthy, my hair isn’t breaking all of the time, I have volume even when I haven’t washed my hair in days, and my curls are getting better with each wash! Below is a little before and after. Excuse the camera quality lol iPhone 6s is a dinosaur at this point! But as you can see, my curl pattern is way more defined, there are more curls, and I have way more volume!
So what about the price?
When you first sign up, you get the shampoo and conditioner in 8oz bottles for under $30. Now, mind you, I’ve been using them for over two months now and I’m JUST getting to the halfway mark. My next order will be regular order, for the bottles will now be 16oz for under $50. It will take me at least 5-6 months to get through those.
The shampoo I was using prior to Function of Beauty was around $60 for an 80z shampoo and conditioner, and I had to repurchase every 3-4 months.
So when you do the math and factor in how much better your hair will be, it’s actually quite the savings! Obviously, if you’re using drugstore shampoo, it might not be such savings, but I can guarantee you’ll see savings from not having to go to the hairdresser as often for split ends and breakage! So it all evens out.
